INDIANS IN KUWAIT CELEBRATE REPUBLIC DAY

The 63rd Republic Day of India was celebrated on January 26, 2012 in Kuwait at the Embassy premises by unfurling of the National Flag by the Ambassador of India, Mr. Satish C. Mehta. This was followed by singing of the National Anthem and reading of the address to the Nation of the Hon’ble President of India by the Ambassador. The girls brass band of the Indian Community School in Kuwait gave a scintillating performance followed by singing of patriotic songs by children from Indian schools in Kuwait. An open house reception was held for all present at the conclusion of the celebration.

        

 

Despite the cold weather thousands of Indian citizens from all walks of life including representatives of Indian associations, businessmen, doctors, engineers, other professionals, domestic workers and Embassy staff with their families participated in the open-air function with joy and enthusiasm.

         

The Ambassador extended his warmest greetings to all members of the Indian Community in Kuwait and also conveyed his best wishes to His Highness The Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince, His Highness The Prime Minister as well as the people of the friendly state of Kuwait with which India enjoys a close multi-faceted relationship.
