1. New passport booklet

Whenever an applicant applies for change in the following particulars, he/she is required to apply for a new passport booklet:

  1. Change of applicants name on account of marriage or other reasons
  2. Change of date of birth or place of birth
  3. Addition of spouses name on account of marriage or deletion of spouses name on account of divorce / death
  4. Change in address

 

2. Renunciation of Indian Citizenship:

The Indian Citizenship Act does not allow dual citizenship. Under Indian law, Persons of Indian Origin who have acquired foreign citizenship are required to surrender their Indian Passports to the nearest Indian Mission/Post immediately after acquisition of foreign citizenship. Holding Indian passport/acquiring Indian passport/traveling on Indian passport after acquisition of foreign citizenship constitutes an offence under the Passport Act and attracts penalties.

All foreign nationals of Indian origin applying for Indian visa, OCI/PIO card or other consular services are required to surrender their Indian passports (valid/expired) to the Embassy of India, Kuwait. They would be issued surrender certificate in lieu of depositing their Indian passports.

A fee of KD 45 for renouncing Indian citizenship/surrender of Indian passport is chargeable. The surrender certificate will be issued in 7 working days. Penalty cases would take more time.  Click here for Application Form

 

3.  IMPORTANT INFORMATION UNDER ATTESTATION 

1..                      In accordance with directions of Local Government for extension of residency of the spouse/children staying/studying in India in recognized educational institutions, the educational documents are to be notarized in India, before they are presented to the Embassy of India for service. 

2.                      The attestation of medical certificates/documents issued by private hospitals/doctors in India, required in connection with extension/regularization of leave in Kuwait for self/dependents, need to be first attested by Health Ministry/Home Department of concerned State, before they are presented to the Embassy of India for service.

 

4. Foreign Nationals Tourist Visa

In accordance with Government of India instructions, foreign nationals, having any tourist visa kindly note that there need to be a gap of at least 2 (two) months between two visits to India on such a tourist visa.

However, foreigners holding tourist visas, who after initial entry into India plan to visit another country and re-enter India before finally exiting, may be permitted two or three entries, subject to their submission of a detailed itinerary and supporting documentation. If a foreign national is required to visit India again with a period of two months of his/her last departure, such foreign nationals may have to obtain special permission from the Head of Mission, who may consider such a request on merits of each case.

In all above mentioned cases, foreign nationals may have not register himself/herself with the FRRO/FRO concerned within 14 days of arrival.

 

5. Consular services seekers may please note that bags and briefcases are not allowed in the Embassy premises.
