“VISIT INDIA 2009” Scheme
As per the “Visit India 2009” Scheme, attractive value additions, are
offered to foreign tourists visiting India in 2009. These include:
- One complimentary international air passage for a traveling companion
- One night complimentary stay in the hotel booked by the tourist
- One complimentary local sightseeing tour in any one city of visit
- One complimentary Rural Eco Holiday in the country
The scheme works on the concept of providing one additional or
complimentary service to the tourist, for every service paid for. It is
not necessary for a tourist to avail of the entire package of benefits.
Three Indian carriers Air India, Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines,
will offer complimentary air passages for traveling companions.
All member hotels of the Hotel Association of India will offer benefits
in one of the following three categories:
(a) Stay one night and get the second consecutive night free.
(b) Stay two nights and get the third consecutive night free.
(c) Stay three nights and get the fourth consecutive night free.
All taxes would be extra and payable by the guest.
Hotels offering benefits under the Scheme include ITC Hotels, ITC
WelcomHeritage hotels, Taj Hotels, The Oberoi Hotels, Trident Hotels,
Park Hotels, The Lalit Group of Hotels, ITDC, HRH Group of Hotels, Hyatt
Hotels & Resorts, Select Group of Hotels, and Kumarakom Lake Resort.
Wellness Holidays are being offered by Somatheeram Ayurveda Resort,
Soukya Indian Holistic Health Centre, Vedang Resources Pvt. Ltd., etc.
Eco–holiday Packages are offered by Our Native Village and other Tour
Operators.
Members of the Indian Association of Tour Operators will offer a
complimentary local sightseeing tour in any one city.
