Press Release Mr. Dinesh Bhatia, Charge d’Affaires of India, received the recipient of Indian National Award for Teachers – 2008, Mrs. Asha Sharma, the Principal of Indian Educational School, Kuwait in the Embassy of India today.
The Charge d’Affairs on behalf of the entire Embassy and the Indian community in Kuwait, congratulated Mrs. Sharma on having received the prestigious National Award, which she received on September 5, 2008 from Her Excellency The President of India in New Delhi. Charge d’Affaires termed this as an important milestone for the entire Indian expatriates’ community in Kuwait. He also hoped that this award to the first ever Indian educationist in Kuwait would help motivate the entire Indian academic community in Kuwait as well as help build excellent bridges in the field of education between the two countries.
Mrs. Asha Sharma is a renowned educationist in Kuwait and is currently the principal of Indian Educational School. She was also the founder principal of Indian Central School where she worked for 12 years. She has also authored and edited a number of books on economics, history, civics, environmental studies, social studies and general knowledge besides penning a number of educational features and articles for leading dailies and magazines in India and Kuwait. She is also the convener of Kuwait Chapter of all CBSE schools and had been the Chairperson of the Council of CBSE schools in the Gulf. |
