Goan Minister Churchill Alemao in Kuwait
The Ambassador of India HE Mr Ajai Malhotra welcomed Hon’ble Churchill Alemao, Minister of Public Works Department and former Chief Minister of Goa, at India House on April 25 evening.
Minister Alemao is in Kuwait for the AFC Cup football match to be played on April 28 between “Churchill Brothers”, of which he is the Patron, and defending champions “Kuwait Sports Club”.
The two teams drew their previous match 2-2 in Goa on March 15. “Churchill Brothers” have since beaten “Al Hilal” of Yemen, both at home and away, and have thus already qualified from Group B for the knock-out round of 16 of the AFC Cup 2010.
Minister Alemao presented Ambassador Malhotra with an AFC Cup 2010 memento during the India House function. Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Minister also warmly complimented the Ambassador for the very prompt and effective support being rendered by the Indian Embassy in responding to the concerns of the community in Kuwait.
