PRESS RELEASE
The 60th
Republic Day of India function was held in Kuwait this morning by
unfurling of the National Flag by the Charge d’Affaires of India, His
Excellency Mr. Dinesh Bhatia which was followed by the National Anthem.
He later read out the message of Her Excellency the President of India
and addressed the gathering of Indians. School children from Indian
schools in Kuwait presented patriotic songs. A brass band of the Indian
Educational School was played to the delight of those attending.
2. The flag
hoisting ceremony was followed by Open House Reception providing Indian
Snacks, tea and soft drinks to all present at the celebration. 3. The function was well attended by over 5000 Indian nationals from all walks of life, including members of the Indian Embassy with their families, employees of Air India, Indian Airlines, Insurance Companies and other Public Sector Undertakings as also friends of India in Kuwait.
