PRESS RELEASE Shri K. Mohandas, Secretary Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Government of India, paid an official visit to Kuwait from December 27-29, 2008. During his visit, Mr. Mohandas met with His Excellency Mr. Hamad A Al Medhadi, Under Secretary for Co-op Affairs, Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour on December 28 and held discussions on further strengthening of the bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly in the area of employment and welfare of Indian workers in Kuwait. He addressed the Indian community and Indian associations at a meeting organized by the Embassy of India on the evening of December 28 and interacted with prominent members of Indian community. A dinner was hosted by Mr. Dinesh Bhatia, Charge d’Affaires of India in honour of Mr. Mohandas & Mrs. Usha Mohandas. Mr Mohandas also visited the labour camps of two companies in Kuwait employing a large number of Indian nationals, and ascertained the standard of accommodation, food and other facilities provided to them.
