In response to a question regarding date of elections in Nepal, the Official Spokesperson said:

"The announcement of the date for elections to the Constituent Assembly is an important step forward in the institutionalization of democracy, peace and development in Nepal. We wish the Government of Nepal all success in the holding of these elections in a manner that the people of Nepal can freely and fairly determine the future of their country.
